Congratulations! We are happy to have you celebrate your wedding at St. Raymond Church. While the wedding liturgy will touch you, your family and friends in an especially intimate way, it also pertains to the local parish and to the larger Church as well. When you exchange your vows, you offer a visible sign of God’s presence and love to the parish in which your wedding is celebrated.

Note: This should be done 12 months in advance of your desired wedding ceremony date. Exceptions in extraordinary circumstances may be possible for 6 month preparations.
You may request the date you desire for your ceremony however that date will only be confirmed after you’ve met with our priest or deacon.
A priest or deacon will contact you to set up an initial meeting.
All required forms, Sacramental certificates, and the FOCCUS questionnaire are completed.
The FOCCUS© Pre-Marriage Inventory is designed to help engaged couples appreciate their unique relationship, learn more about themselves, and discuss topics important to their lifelong marriage. You will receive a unique login as part of your marriage preparation. At that time return to this page, click the FOCCUS link below and complete the exercise.
All couples are required to attend an Evening for the Engaged workshop. The Evening for the Engaged Workshop is offered through the Family Life Office. You can reach them at (510) 267-8395.
Under ‘Sacramental Preparation’ / Marriage / Step 3 remove the verbiage about Natural Family Planning and substitute this: You will also need to learn about the benefits of Natural Family Planning. For an introduction video click here.
In some cases annulments or dispensations may be required. Those will be discussed with the priest or deacon preparing you for marriage.
Once all the previous steps are fully completed, your date will be confirmed and you will be contacted by the wedding coordinator.
The wedding coordinator will set up a meeting at about 6 months in advance of your ceremony to assist you in the planning of the ceremony. You may pre-fill the Ceremony Planning Sheet at any time before this meeting. You may also download a full copy of the 2015 – 2016 Wedding Packet in preparation for this meeting.
Submit all fees to the parish office in care of the Wedding Coordinator 7 days in advance.
• Marriage Offering to Parish: $450
• Wedding Coordinator Stipend: $200
• Wedding for people outside of the Parish Community: $500
• Quinceaneras: $300
• Priest: $100 – $200 donation
• Musician: To be decided by the Director of Music Ministries based on the needs of the couple.
Attend your rehearsal. Rehearsals are usually held the afternoon of the day prior to your wedding. They can take place up to a week in advance though we strongly advise against it. In the case of special observances the rehearsal may also be moved to an earlier date. They usually run about an hour in length. We encourage everyone involved in the ceremony to attend.
YOUR WEDDING DAY!
Now that you’ve done all the necessary preparation, it is time to enjoy one of the most important days of your life. We encourage you to make every effort to be on time, especially for Saturday 2:00PM weddings so that you may have a relaxed and prayerful ceremony.
